Journey to Emmaus

21.08.20

On Wednesday, 19 August our Year 6 students enjoyed a day of Faith, Friends and Fun as part of the Journey to Emmaus retreat program.

The day consisted of unpacking the Journey to Emmaus story where Jesus, having risen from the dead, appeared to the men on the road who failed to recognise him until he broke bread. The story gave the students lots of food for thought about how they could recognise God in their lives and how they could be the face of God to others.

Other activities the students participated in were…

  • Creating a playdoh image of a key idea from the Journey to Emmaus story.
  • Performing a skit showing how we can be the face of God in everyday life.
  • Playing some games and debriefing how we can be the face of God in both winning and losing.
  • Making a woollen cross as a gift for people in our Sunday worshipping community.

A big thank you to our Youth Minister Sara and her Colleague Ben for putting this day together and sharing their energy and faith with the students.

God Bless
Ben Ryan
