It was with great joy we welcomed back Father Michael for our first Whole School Mass for 2022.
There were times earlier this year when we wondered if we will be able to hold a whole school gathering at any stage in 2022. That question was finally answered as St Martin de Porres school held our first whole school Mass on 1 June.
The theme for Mass was appropriately the celebration of Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit. We prayed for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be strengthened in us, such as courage, wisdom, knowledge and awe of the Lord.
The children from 3RL did a fantastic job as hosts of the Mass, leading all the prayers, the readings and the singing.
It was wonderful to have Father Michael back in the school, and our community was able to recognise his Silver Jubilee, the 25th Anniversary of his Priesthood with flowers and a gift. We look forward to more community gatherings like this throughout this year.
