Year 2 students went on an excursion to the Adelaide Botanical Gardens as part of their HASS learning. This excursion gave the students an opportunity to further their understanding of the Indigenous Australian culture and their deep connection to the land.
The students had a wonderful day exploring the many plants in the gardens and finding out interesting facts about everyday plants that they did not know. One of the highlights of the day was taking a guided tour of the Gardens with Mak who showed us different ways that Indigenous peoples used plants to meet their needs of food, water, shelter and equipment.
