The Reception classes each have caterpillars in their classrooms as a part of their Science learning this term. The children are using their inquiry, observation and prediction skills as the caterpillars transform and go through metamorphosis.
In one of the featured photos below you can see a very small caterpillar, a fully grown adult caterpillar, a caterpillar preparing to go into its chrysalis and a brand new chrysalis with the caterpillar in the pupa stage.
The children are very excited to see this process in action.
