La Festa Italiana

29.08.23

La Festa Italiana - Mamma Mia, what an amazing Italian Day!

Today students were entertained by Michelle from @Spectacular Spettacolo an Italian/Australian comedy company for schools, based in Melbourne with the show ‘Vacanze Romane’. The show had the students in stitches, it was full of audience participation, Italian songs, full of information about the Eternal City Rome, and of course Italian language.

After the show students were involved in a Scavenger Hunt around the school finding different Italian items and then ending with an amazing Gelato from Gelista. A sea of Green, White and Red then flooded the oval as students participated in a whole Tarantella Dance. Students then returned to class to complete some Italian Day activities followed by a Pizza lunch for all. Lunchtime saw some games of Bocce and Soccer being enjoyed by students and staff.

After lunch, students then went around exploring a variety of different class stalls using their very own Euro. Students were able to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, Throw a Hoop on Pinocchio’s nose, La Bocca della Verità Lucky Dip, Italian Nail Painting, Leonardo da Vinci’s Face Painting, Soccer Shoot Out, Guess the Lollies, Italian Raffle and  Michelangelo’s Trash and Treasure.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole school community for once again coming together in such a festive day of fun and learning. An event such as this would not be possible without the help and support of everyone, the amazing volunteers giving up their time, the generous and much-appreciated donations from families, our amazing staff, and last but not least, by far,  the enthusiasm and preparations of students.

Grazie Mille a Tutti!
Rosa Valente.
